Michelle Yong unveils her core values in CNA interview
Balancing work and life is tough.
But if you are a serial entrepreneur like Michelle Yong, it's even tougher.
She is a Director of Aurum Land, Co-Founder of Collision 8 and Founder of Core Collective, and our nominated candidate for Best Broadcast Interview in this week's Hong Bao Media Savvy Awards nomination.
In this episode of Channel NewsAsia's "Coffee With The Boss", Ms Yong shares her insights into how she balances life and career (including the remarkable promise to her husband not to start any more!), and the life philosophy she abides by.
Here are three observations on her performance:

The Hong Bao Media Savvy Awards 2018 resumes with our second round of nominations. At the same time, Hong Bao Media has launched the awards in Malaysia and fine-tuned the categories to:
- Best Broadcast Interview

We launched the Hong Bao Media Savvy Awards to recognise senior local leaders for their communications skills, and to showcase authentic and credible home-grown communicators.
These are shining examples for other local business leaders, and to build a culture of excellence in communication, to maximise the potential of Asian companies in the Asian Century.
Each week until July 31, 2018, we are shortlisting a local corporate figure who has demonstrated excellence in a media appearance for the Hong Bao Media Savvy Awards 2018.

- Messages – Yong had many substantive things to say which delivered value to viewers. But her comments were also aspirational, transcending boring "canned messages" or "corporate speak". She knew just what she wanted to say throughout the interview, and was never caught "shooting from the hip".
- Packaged answers – Further into the interview, Yong began her answers with short sentences that were easy to understand and digest.
- Numbers – Numbers and statistics are important for substantiation. Yong brought across a few numbers, and she did so in a way to make it easy for viewers to catch them, and understand their significance. Can you spot them in her interview?
