Chia Su-Mae tells sweet stories
Chia Su-Mae, founder of skincare brand Bskin, tells stories and elevates the entire interview, making it interesting to watch.
We think the interview with The Peak shows her personality, charm and storytelling powers, which is why we are nominating her for the Media Savvy Awards 2022.
Watch and read below for my assessment.
We launched the Media Savvy Awards in 2018 to recognise local business leaders for their communications skills, and to showcase authentic and credible home-grown communicators.
Supported by the Asia Pacific Association of Communications Directors and joining us this year – the Investor Relations Professionals Association Singapore and the Public Relations and Communications Association - we highlight shining examples for other local business leaders to follow, and to build a culture of excellence in communication, to maximise the potential of Asian companies in the Asian Century.

Excellent storytelling
Chia Su-Mae is an excellent storyteller. When asked about an interesting fact about bees which produce the honey her products are based on, Chia said bees can reverse ageing. She brings up a scientific paper published in 2012 about how wild honey bees can age in reverse when they are introduced to a hive and given nursing tasks.
It is a short story, but an engaging and interesting one.
Chia follows up with another story. This time it is about her father and how when he was starting his business, he would sleep in the office every night or arrive earlier than all his employees.
The last story Chia tells is about her secret talent. Such a question requires a zany answer. And Chia delivers.
If you know Chia Su-Mae, share this article and congratulate her on being nominated for the Media Savvy Awards 2022.
